Clinical Trial Meeting Japan, 11-12 April 2015
Prospective collaborators in Japan meet to discuss expansion of the trial
In April, Yasushi Hagihara the National Coordinator (NC) of Japan held a 2-day conference at the Senshu Trauma Critical Care Centre, Osaka to discuss the expansion of the CRASH-3 trial in Japan. They were joined by 14 doctors from both Emergency and Neurosurgery Departments of 10 hospitals from across Japan, the furthest being Hokkaido.
The trial has been running in two hospitals - Matsudo City Hospital, Chiba & Senshu Trauma and Critical Care Centre, Osaka since October 2014 and so far they have recruited 59 patients into the trial.
The meeting was a great success and Ian praised Yasushi for being an excellent National Coordinator for Japan. Yasushi was enthusiastic about Ian’s presentation and says that everyone believes in the success of the trial. He said:
"The first meeting of CRASH-3 collaborators in Japan was a huge success. It was a great opportunity to reassure how samurai doctors are eager, earnest and inspired with this fantastic trial. The diligence of the Japanese nation is already well known to the world, and we'll soon prove it again!"
We hope more hospitals in Japan will soon join the trial and help to establish a strong trial network in the Osaka area and beyond.
